National “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand LED Street Lamps” Research Team Investigates HC Semitek

On the afternoon of Aug. 6, Mr. Geng Bo, the Director of the Office of China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA), and his entourage, accompanied by officials from Wuhan Bureau of Science and Technology and relevant departments of East Lake High-tech Development Zone, visited HC Semitek to carry out the survey of the “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand LED Street Lamps” project. The scientists of HC Semitek R&D Department introduced HC Semitek’s current products and technology development to the research team.

The scientists of HC Semitek R&D Department introduced HC Semitek’s current products and technology development to the research team.

The survey is mainly geared to white light chips for high-power lighting and their applications. HC Semitek has been conducting R&D on high luminous efficiency chips, and has made great strides in this regard. The “high luminous efficiency white-light R&D project” was selected for the “R&D Project Funding Program” by Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology in 2010. As high-end blue/green chips for display screens are in short supply, HC Semitek is adjusting production capacity for small-batch production of high luminous efficiency white-light chips which are widely praised by customers for trial use. HC Semitek will gradually boost the proportion of high luminous efficiency products as the overall production capacity continues to rise.

The research team spoke highly of the achievements of HC Semitek in the chip production field, and hoped that HC Semitek would step up the R&D of high luminous efficiency and high-power white light chips based on the steadily growing production capacity of blue and green LED chips.
