HC Semitek Limited, Suzhou announced on Nov. 8 the completion of the first-phase factories for epitaxial wafers project invested and built by HC Semitek at Zhangjiagang Economic and Technological Development Zone, indicating that HC Semitek has spurred its strategic expansion and reached a new height in production capacity.

At the completion ceremony, nearly 1,000 people including the chief leaders such as Yao Linrong, Secretary of CPC Zhangjiagang Municipal Committee, and Zhu Lifan, the Acting Mayor; chief leaders of the industry associations and alliances including Du Yong, Vice President of China Development Bank Suzhou Branch; Chen Yansheng, Chairman of China Semiconductor Lighting/LED Alliance; Guan Baiyu, the Secretary General; Xu Huai, Director of China Association of Lighting Industry; Wang Lin, Secretary-general of China Optics and Optoelectronics Manufactures Association; and Guan Jizhen, Director of the LED Display Application Branch; as well as major customers and representative suppliers of HC Semitek witnessed another milestone of HC Semitek.

“The first-phase project of HC Semitek Limited, Suzhou is an important step towards the overall industrial layout for HC Semitek. When the first-phase project with an investment of 1.8 billion yuan comes on stream, HC Semitek will have annual production and processing capacity of 420,000 pieces of 4-inch epitaxial wafers, equivalent to 1.68 million pieces of 2-inch epitaxial wafers, or corresponding to production capacity of 24 billion chips. It is the largest LED epitaxial wafer project in Jiangsu Province and one of the top three in China.” Zhou Fuyun, Chairman of HC Semitek, expressed at a speech that the completion and operation of this project will be of strategic significance for HC Semitek to bring into play its market’s position and enhance the company’s overall strength.

Zhou Fuyun said that HC Semitek will remain focused on the field of LED epitaxial wafers, scale up the production and carry out the company’s development strategy in Zhangjiagang, a fertile land for investment. Together with Zhangjiagang, it will transform HC Semitek Limited, Suzhou into the world’s largest LED epitaxial wafer production base in terms of production capacity of a single factory, and strive to help HC Semitek become the world’s leading supplier of high-quality chips.

Director Chen Yansheng conveyed congratulations on HC Semitek on behalf of industry associations and alliances. Chen Yansheng said that by keeping abreast of the market and technology, continuously increasing its product lines, steadily scaling up its production capacity, and improving its market position, HC Semitek has become a core company with leading technology and scale in the industry. It is believed that as HC Semitek was listed last year and the production base in Zhangjiagang comes on stream this year, HC Semitek will surely play a pivotal role in the development of China’s LED industry. We anticipate and hope that HC Semitek achieves the goal of becoming a leading global supplier of high-quality chips as soon as possible.
